Hi all!! I’m back from my vacation- and back to the grind tomorrow at work! So bittersweet!
Today my guest post for Lucy’s Stash was published and I’d love for you to see it! Lucy’s nail art blog is huge- she’s an amazing talent! It’s so exciting that she asked moi to create a nail art design to grace her web pages! Today I’ve got a funky manicure for you- I like to call it my ‘underside mani’ where I paint the underside of my nails. I’ve done this look before with studs and Louboutin-style… but never with hand-painted nail art! Today’s the day to try that!
For this look I started with a couple coats of L.A. Girl Black Illusion on top and underneath my nail tip. This encapsulated my nails so they looked black from every direction. 🙂 Then I painted some whites stripes in a bold pattern on the underside of my nails. My nails are very curved so it was difficult to make the lines look perfect, or maybe I just need some practice. I also added some tiny red rhinestones to spice it up a little….and some seche vite topcoat to help it all dry quickly. I think this is so funky and fun! What do you think of my underside mani? Crazy cool, or just crazy?
Hi y’all! Ready for some holographic goodness for day 17?? I absolutely love my L.A. Girl 3D Effects polishes and I’ve used them 5 times already on my blog. Here comes L.A. Girl holo post # 6 for today’s GRADIENT theme!
I usually do my gradient with a small sliver of sponge and my ‘dabbing’ technique (see my technique here) because I find it clean and effective. But for today’s look I went with the standard gradient technique that I usually see online which is to apply stripes of polish on a full makeup wedge. Even though I applied glue around my nails to help with cleanup- pressing the makeup wedge onto my nails made my cuticles get covered with polish- so I’ll probably switch back to my dabbing technique next time!
