Glitter for #NAILLINKUP

Just in the nick of time!  Here’s my GLITTER themed manicure for the February N.A.I.L. Linkup.

I re-sized my pics in a different program and they look a little blurry.  Buuuut I’m happy to say that I was able to take these photos outside in natural light this time!  Some of our snow has melted and I’m venturing outside again.  I emphasize the word SOME when speaking about the snow melting.  There’s still a lot on the ground! Oh, and we’re supposed to get another snowstorm on sunday nite.  Sweeeeet.  Cuz it hasn’t snowed in like what?  At least 5 days now ?

  • I’m wearing one coat of Sally Hansen Hard as Nails as my basecoat.
  • I used one coat of Seche Chic as my nude transparent base color.
  • I applied blue painters tape to section off my tips.
  • Painted my tips a dark brown shimmery color from the Kardashian Cabana Collection called Sunrise.
  • Then I applied three coats of my sparse glitter topper from wet n wild called Stick it to the Man.
  • One coat of seche vite topcoat to smooth it all out.
  • Then I realized it needed something to pull it all together so I added blue dots of Nicole by Opi Pros & Confidence.  Much better!

The last time I wore this brown Kardashian color I was disappointed.  The brush was all weird and defective and application was difficult.  I wrote to the Kardashians and Kim promptly mailed me a new one!  Ok, I didn’t write to THE Kardashians… I wrote to their company.  And the ACTUAL Kim didn’t mail me a new product, instead some girl in their customer care department named Kim did.  But still… it was pretty cool, and I appreciate their good customer service.  Here’s the other time I wore this brown: Feathers for Oct NAILLINKUP

Enchanted Polish

enchanted polish

A few weeks ago I got my first ever bottles of Enchanted Polish (from nailpolishcanada).  They’re both duochromes.  One is a holo called The Youth (I didn’t know holo duochromes even existed until now!) and a glitter called Hello New York.  I’ve swatched both and also did some gradient nail art with each.  Behold!

THE YOUTH-

The Youth is a light green holo that shifts between mint green, icy blue and sometimes even purple.  Shown here is one base coat, three coats of The Youth, and seche vite topcoat.  It’s gorgeous!

Here’s The Youth‘s duochrome effects…

How about some simple nail art with this?  Here’s The Youth with some black China Glaze sponged onto the tips.  The results are a stunning black & holo gradient!

HELLO NEW YORK-

Hello New York is a glitter!  It’s so glam and absolutely shines of gold and green!  I think it’s meant to be a glitter topper but I had to try it on it’s own.  Below is one coat of Essence peel-off base coat, 4 coats of Hello New York and one coat of seche vite topcoat…..

Sometimes it’s yellow and sometimes it’s green.  Here’s two different views of it…

Hello New York looks so hot layered over black too!  Check out my simple glitter gradient…

The formula was great on these…I definitely want more Enchanted Polish!  They’re so full of special effects!  Like WOW!  But I heard Enchanted is hard to get your hands on and it sells out quickly.

What do you think of this brand?

#31DC2013 – DAY 2 Orange Nails

Hi!  I would like to jump in on Chalkboard Nails’ 31 Day Challenge!  Day two is dedicated to ORANGE so here is my orange mani!

orange_nails_with_glitter

I know this isn’t my typical crazy Craftynail-style nail art… but sometimes I crave a simple mani. 🙂  I’m wearing two coats of I Think I Cayenne by Sephora by OPI and then I applied some glitter to my tips using Ulta’s Piñata-yada-yada.  This orange is so lovely in the bottle… but on my nails it just looks ok.  Maybe cool colors looks better on me than warm colors?  Cute story about my glitter- when I was on vacation in Oregon shopping with my BFF I kept eye-ing this Ulta glitter topper.  I didn’t end up buying it… so my BFF picked it up for me.  Isn’t that sweet?  Oftentimes when we go shopping together we get home and open our bags and she’s like, ‘LOOK- I got this for you’!  And I’m like, ‘LOOK- I got this for YOU’!!  That’s the fun thing about girlfriends- we’re so dang thoughtful! ❤

I hope you like my day 2 orange mani for the 31DC2013!!  Here’s the upcoming themes.  I can’t commit to doing every theme, but I hope I can still come up with many cool manis.  Til next time!
