Day 13 of OMD Challenge- Midnight Blue Stars

Today is DAY 13/STARS DAY of the Oh Mon Dieu Nail Challenge! I love celestial-themed stuff, especially in blue and yellow… so that’s my inspiration for today’s nail art!

This blue polish is amazing!  It’s called Midnight Blue by Sinful Colors.  If you apply it carefully it could definitely be a one-coater.  I love how intense it is- so bright n shiny!  Then I used a short skinny striper brush to paint the yellow stars using Zoya Pippa.  Pippa was not the best for this type of nail art.  It kept getting stringy when I pulled the brush off my nail.  I’ll try to remember that next time I do sugar spun nails.  It’s stringy-ness could come in handy for that!

I can’t wait to see the other star designs today!  Here’s the link:

I’d also like to mention that someone recently contacted me asking if it’s too late to join the challenge- but I’m unable to email you since the messages all come back undeliverable.  Just know- it’s not too late!  You can start now at day 13, or you can start on a previous day if you like any of the past themes.  I hope to see you soon!

Nebula Galaxy Nails

Last month I won a giveaway hosted by In The Gray Areas!  I’m such a lucky ducky!  One of the polishes I received was this gorgeous bottle of Nebula by Fresh Paint.  Nebula was just screaming for some galaxy nail art!  Here’s what I came up with!

I like that my fuchsia design is a little different than the normal black or dark blue galaxy nails you see online.  Also, I did a google search for the word NEBULA and a lot of the pics of space have this color scheme in them anyway.  So I guess my nails are true-to-life!  Here’s the color combo I used:

Fresh Paint Nebula ♥ base color

L.A. Girl 3D Effects Sparkle Ruby ♥ sponged on

L.A. Girl 3D Effects Black Illusion  sponged on

Wet n Wild Megalast Break the Ice ♥ sponged on

NYC Nail Enamel French White Tip ♥ for the stars

I love galaxy nails!  There so many effects you can do and the color combos are endless!  Next time I’d like to stamp over top of it.  I have a Cheeky stamping plate with UFOs and Saturn on it.  How cute would that be?  Maybe a creepy little glow-in-the-dark alien head?  LOL!  What do you think?

Batik Galaxy Nails with Moons and Stars

Today’s nails are inspired by the cute hippie curtains that I have hanging on my bedroom windows!  Here’s a pic of them- they’re batik tie dye panel curtains…

I think I did a good job replicating them!  I started with two coats of my L.A. Girl 3D Effects Hologram Nail Polish called Brilliant Blue.  Then I sponged on a bit of a black holo from the same collection called Black Illusion and also some NYC called Black Lace Creme.  The moons were dotted on with a large dotting tool and some white wet n wild polish.  Then I overlapped half of that white dot with a Brilliant Blue dot to make the crescent shape. That was easy!  I made the stars with white polish and my smallest dotting tool.  I was afraid they’d be difficult, but the tiny head of the dotting tool worked really well to shape the five points of the stars.  I added some seche vite topcoat and now I’ve got some awesome galaxy nails!  The only thing that would make them cooler is if the moons and stars glowed in the dark!
