I’m not the type of girl to run out and buy a new nail polish collection when it first gets released. But there was something about the OPI Brazil collection that really called to me. I couldn’t stop thinking about those bright tropical colors until I finally broke down and drove to the beauty supply store! Good thing that store is a half hour out of my way. If it was right in my town I would be penniless and drowning in OPI!
Even though I got a great deal on these, I’m not a big spender- so I only picked my four favorites from the collection. All swatches are with no base coat, two coats of OPI, and no topcoat. They are all shiny even without topcoat.
First is AmazON…AmazOFF. This a deep dark teal with a slight shimmer running through it. I was surprised how good this one looks on me. Might be my favorite of the bunch. However, I did get a bum brush. I swear, if there’s a bad brush in the lot, it will find it’s way to me every time! I snipped the stray bristle with small scissors and now it works okay.
Next up is a neutral shade called Don’t Bossa Nova Me Around. For some reason I want to call it Don’t Bossa Me Nova, but oh well! It’s a nice opaque shade for nail art, I’m sure I’ll be using this one a lot. It’s similar to My Vampire is Buff, only a little darker. However, Don’t Bossa is a two-coater, so I might start using it in place of My Vampire from now on!
This yellow shade is the one I was lemming after- I Just Can’t Cope-acabana. What a crazy name, and considering that I’ve been a ball of stress lately … this one is fun for me! Plus, I love to sample yellows out. It’s like my personal mission to try out all the yellows to find the best ones, preferably two-coaters. Hmmm I wonder if there are any one-coaters out there? Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, Jacqui! But…. I Just Can’t Cope has quickly moved to the top of my yellow favorites list. It’s a vibrant and creamy two-coater with a good formula.
Last but not least is a super bright coral called Live.Love.Carnaval. The formula on this one seemed a little chalkier than the others.. maybe because it’s borderline neon. I actually messed one finger up and had to do it again. Not sure what happened with that. But still, I love how eye-catching it is…. it’s almost red, almost pink, but mostly coral, and very sexy!
Those are my fave four! Do you have a favorite from the Brazil collection?
If you read my blog you probably saw my floral Brazil nail art from the other day. But if you missed it, here it is!
Live.Love.Carnaval looks so good on your skintone! Love it 🙂
Thanks! It kinda made me look tan 🙂
ive nominated you for an award

I think Live.Love.Carnival is my favorite from the collection. Don’t Bossa Nova Me Around looks like it’d work beautifully as a base for nail art, though! 🙂
Yeah! I plan to get a lot of usage outta don’t bossa!
I’m pretty sure I will need to buy Don’t Bossa Nova Me Around when my no-buy is over!
Ahhhh.. for lent?
Haha yup! Donating the money I would have spent on polish to worthwhile charities. 🙂
you are such a good girl!
My favs are the little sandies! They’re sooo bright and fun!
yes- they look great! but they are only minis right? so weird!
Yes, just minis. I don’t have many clients who are into the textured thing, so they work for me!
What great creme shades!
thanks Lis!
I love the nude but all the colours rock!
right on! there were two oranges too and I couldn’t decide … wish I got one of them!
Three of the four you have here are the ones I plan on picking up! Clinique’s 70 and Sunny is just about a one coater, you should check it out.
70 and sunny? i will look for that one ! thanks
Wow I love the nailart you made.
thank you Viv 🙂
Hey lady, you were not supposed to buy nail polish for lent! 😦 I love these colors though 🙂
neener neener neener! these were purchased in Feb 🙂
Do you ever hate to take polish off when you work so hard to do it ? You do so many really beautiful ones, do you ever keep one longer because you just love it , or is your fun in trying yet a new one ?
before i started blogging it would bug me to take it off so quickly. But now I know I can whip up another design no problem. So honestly, I can’t wait to take it off and do another manicure! i have so many ideas waiting on the sidelines… i just need more time to complete them all!
but once in a while I’ll have a design that I LOVE combined with a busy week, then I might keep one on for 4 or 5 days 🙂
Well, since I have awful nails, I love to see what you come up with every time !! You are very creative and have made it an art form !!!
These are my favorites, too!! I don’t have My Vampire… but I love colors like that for a base for nailart. I have the yellow but none of the others. I might need to change that. 😉 I love the nail art, too!
My Vampire is okay… but oftentimes is needs three coats and I thought it was supposed to be a two-coater!
That’s too bad. I am not a fan of VNL so if it doesn’t get opaque easily that would really annoy me.
I love your nail shape!! This collection looks fab, they all look great on you 🙂
Thank you so much!
I might be in love with that super bright yellow : )
I had to try it three times right away cuz i love it so much. To swatch, for nail art, and i put it on my mom. She loved it too!
