Nail Polish Empties Tag

Marthe at Upclose & Polished started an awesome tag for us nail bloggers!  You can read her original post here called the: Nail Polish Empties TagHow the Tag works:  Collect your empty nail polish containers/packaging and snap a photo of them.  Then walk us through each product and tell us whether or not you would repurchase the product…if it was any good… if you recommend it (or not) and why! :)

I think Marthe’s post is a lot of fun and gives your readers a glimpse of what products you use!  Please join in on the tag!  Tell us about your empties and feel free to use Marthe’s pic/logo in your post (and/or as widget on your sidebar).  And tag everyone you know!

Here are some of my empties:

AVON Nailwear Pro Nail Enamel in Ruby Slipper:  This is beautiful cherry red with very fine red and gold glitter.  I don’t wear a lot of red polish since I feel like it makes me look like a vampire for some reason… but the shade of Ruby Slipper is very flattering.  On the other hand… the formula doesn’t hold up so well and it’s getting goopy and thick.  The bottle is still half full, but it feels like it’s empty since It’s hard to get a lot of polish on the brush.  I also need to use three coats which is kind of a hassle considering how the formula isn’t what it used to be.   Would I purchase this again?  Probably not.  There are so many other dazzling reds out there, that I’d rather try another next time.  Related post: Cool AVON Products.

Cutex Strengthening Nail Polish Remover:  Sure, it has acetone in it, which we know can dry your nails and skin out…  but I like that this product has vitamins and protein to help combat those negative effects.  I used to buy cheap store brand nail polish remover and then when I tried this stuff I was amazed at how much better it works!  It takes my polish off nice and fast!  I recently ran out so I decided to try a no-name walmart brand instead.  It said ‘compare to cutex’ right on the bottle.  And I sure have.  I have compared it and it sucks!  Cutex works way better!  It’s also easy for me to find in stores (like the supermarket or pharmacy).  Would I recommend this product?  YES!  I need to run out and buy some more and then figure out what to do with that crappy walmart stuff! Do you like my cartoonized photo of the cutex bottle?  ↓  Teehee

Almond Hand & Nail Cream from the Body Shop:  I’m almost out of this product and it’s really been bugging me!  Every day I hope for an awesome coupon code email from The Body Shop so I can restock!  Well, today I got a notice of a 50% off sale- so I will probably order two bottles!  Phew.  I feel better now.  I think this is probably my favorite hand and nail cream of all time.  The texture of it is so smooth and silky.  I especially like to apply it when my nails are clean and bare.  It makes me feel soft, pampered… and it makes the surface of my nails feels like buttah!  I’m in love with this!  Highly recommended! Nailtiques Formula 2 Nail Strengthener:  Nailtiques worked great for me when I started blogging and needed to get my nails in tip top shape!  It dries pretty fast, and I like to use it as a strengthening base coat.  When I started wearing this product religiously I noticed that my nails didn’t break anymore… and they started getting really long and less brittle.  Will I re-purchase this product?  YES.  Maybe not right this moment since I have several bottles of other strengtheners (I’m currently in love with my Sally Hansen Maximum Growth).  But yes, I will definitely buy more when I get to the very bottom of the bottle.  I sorta think of this stuff as powerful ammo that you need to keep in your arsenal just in case of impending danger!  Related post: Tips for Long Nails.

  1. “I have compared it and it sucks!” Aaahahaha, that’s why I love you! Those photo filters are great. I need to try some brand-name polish remover; I never considered that there might be a difference.
