It’s metallic day in the nail art challenge. When I heard the term metallic– I thought about aluminum foil! Why not? I’m sure I can decorate my nails with that stuff!
I used one of those paper-punches (the ones designed for decorative paper crafts). I think I got it at Michael’s Crafts Store in the $1 bins by the registers. I used the paper punch on the tin foil and out popped a cute flower shape! I painted my nails pink, applied a topcoat, then placed my flowers to my tacky nails. When they dried a little bit I pushed down any foil pieces that were sticking up and applied topcoat to seal them down. Pretty cute and easy! Oh and the pink polish I’m wearing in these photos is called Sweet by Zoya. 🙂 I also want to let you know that I’m out of town at a work conference right now. So plz forgive me if I don’t comment back right away. I am super busy all day with sitting… then eating… sitting …then eating lol! Luckily I had this post ready before I left town. Now, tomorrow’s gradient design for day 26, now that’s a different story! Not sure when I will have the chance to do that one! But, I hope you like my tin foil… and keep the comments coming! It makes me smile in between my financial aid sessions! Ciao 🙂
These are lovely and creative! Great job!
Glad you like them 🙂
Oh Crafty… in each others brains again only yours came out A LOT better! Love this ❤
Yeah whats up with that? We are always thinking alike! Pretty cool!
I feel like the polish muses are cheating us and just forwarding the same ideas out! (Yeh it is kind of cool). I am so worn out by this 30 day challenge this week but I know I will be sad when it’s over.
I thought of this too, I just didn’t have the tools for it..:( Well done 🙂
Thnx Marthe! French tips covered in foil would be soo cool, right? But i didnt know how to make that one happen!
Is this stamper for people scrap booking and stuff? My nighbour has a scrapbooking room full of stuff, I might get one of those stamper/ clip out thingy from her.. Ohh I want owls.. I want tin foil owls on my nails…!! Thank you for this post, I’ll let you know how mine goes, with creds to you hun 🙂 ❤
Yes! A scrapbooker would have these! I hope she has owls for u- that would be so cute!
I know, love owls 😉 I’ll keep you posted 🙂
LOVE IT! I have the paper punches, now I just need fingernails – still stubbin’ 😜
Haha just think how you can conserve your foil usage when your nails are short! Lol
I can wrap the planet – twice 🙂
Cute idea and cute manicure 🙂
Thanks Chris!
Very creative!
Very creative! Lovely!
Adorable!
That’s a great idea of you by using thin foil! The are very lovely.
What a FANTASTIC idea! I had to show my coworker (who always has the coolest designs on her nails).
I just may get a little fancy-schmancy with this myself! =0)
Ha thanks! Tin foil is a lil corny.. but it came out cute! Does your colleague do her own nails?
Oh no – she gets them done… This last time she had 3-D hello kitty faces on her ring fingers – really cute!
Smart idea, it looks great!
Omg I have that same exact punch! I must go try this out now. Great idea!
I put seche vite on before applying the foil but it didnt dry too well. You might want to try brushing a lil bit of topcoat on that spot instead. Then just topcoat it all at the end after you placed the foil. That might work better than the 2 full topcoats like i did?
Thanks for the tip, I’ll keep that in mind!
Oh WOW what an amazing idea!!! I love it, so simple yet so effective!
Hey this is so cool! Another cool idea!
That is so clever !! it would have never dawned on me to use a paper punch on foil. They are so cute ! I love the pink with it !! Great idea, you are so creative !!
Very neat. I have to try this!
